Pilates

Pilates is a low-impact exercise system that combines strength training, flexibility, light cardio, and breathing techniques. Developed in the 1920s by Joseph and Clara Pilates to help injured dancers and soldiers. It focuses on strengthening the deeper muscles that support structure and overall health. Pilates involves a series of slow, controlled movements that challenge the core by moving the arms or legs while holding a position.

    • Improves posture, flexibility, strength, balance, and body awareness

    • Helps reduce muscle tension

    • Improves coordination, balance, and stability

    • Increases strength and endurance

    • Helps with rehabilitation

  • Pilates tones the core muscles and increases flexibility, balance, and coordination, which are integral to athletic performance.

It helps body awareness so that athletes can avert injuries and recover faster.

The other aspect of it is that it does muscle control, supporting endurance and agility in both swimming and running, including stability and mobility in sports like tennis

  • Concentration: Focused mind-body connection during exercises.

Control: Precise movements with controlled execution.

Centering: Engaging the core muscles as the powerhouse of the body.

Breathing: Deep and coordinated breathing throughout exercises.

    Flow: Smooth transitions between movements.
